Upon arriving in Xi’an, our travel butler will be waiting at the airport or station. A warm smile, a gentle greeting, and a private transfer carry you to a carefully selected hotel. No rush, no interruption. Enjoy a peaceful night in the ancient capital, allowing body and mind to settle and prepare for the mountain retreat ahead.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will accompany you on a peaceful journey toward Zhongnan Mountain. Upon arrival at the Liuyi Zhai Retreat Residence, you will be welcomed with a cup of cleansing welcome tea. This simple ceremony marks a gentle farewell to worldly life.
In the afternoon, under the guidance of a tea master, learn the wisdom of “entering the Dao through tea,” letting each movement become a dialogue with your inner self. Your Daoist mentor then introduces foundational rituals and gestures.
At dusk, enjoy medicinal cuisine prepared according to the Five Elements, with the mentor explaining the healing logic of each dish. When night falls, let the flowing tones of a live Guqin performance quiet your thoughts and merge with the tranquility of the mountain night.

At dawn, follow your mentor to practice Daoist wellness exercises in the morning mist, absorbing the mountain’s fresh Qi to awaken the body. Later, in the Daoist medicine workshop, you craft your own moxa from wild Zhongnan mugwort and learn the essentials of seasonal health preservation.
After lunch break, deepen your tea meditation practice to harmonize meridians and balance yin and yang, developing subtle sensory awareness.
At night, the Guqin healing candlelight concert will allow the traditional concept of “five tones harmonizing the five organs” to gently cleanse your inner being and restore balance.

Begin with morning wellness exercises, letting the body remember the natural rhythm. Review moxibustion techniques to deepen internal understanding. After cleansing the hands and mind, practice ink writing on a bilingual silk copy of the Qingjing Jing, letting each stroke become a practice of inner stillness.
In the afternoon tea session, taste different categories of tea such as oolong, white tea, and dark tea, observing how their aromas and textures subtly influence the senses. This cultivation of perception becomes a gift you carry long after the retreat ends.

Continue your morning routine of morning practice, moxibustion, and scripture copying, allowing these practices to become habits that nourish life itself.
In the afternoon, sit in conversation with a Daoist teacher and explore the life wisdom found in the Yi Ching. It is not a lecture but a space where ancient understanding meets modern life in sparks of clarity.
At night, return to the candlelit Guqin performance. This time, you will hear more, feel more, resonate more deeply. It can be described as an inner massage for the spirit.
